Pyramidal Tract
Digital Color

Pyramidal tract consists of upper motor neuron nerve fibers and includes the corticospinal and corticobulbar tracts from the cerebral cortex in the brain. They descend to the brainstem and spinal cord and are responsible for motor impulses. The device shown in the illustration provides transcranial magentic stimulation (TMS), used to target this region of the brain.
